  • Custom timber built exhibition stand prices generally cost between ZAR 5000 – ZAR 10 000 per square meter.
  • Though depending on the design & requirements can be much higher.
  • Rigging costs around ZAR 7000 per ‘point’ rigging, and ZAR 40 000 + per truss system rigging. However, ACE is one of the few companies that supply this service in-house with special prices as low as ZAR 2000 per ‘point’ rigging.
  • Double storey exhibition stand prices can cost between ZAR 3500 – ZAR 5000 per square meter.

  • Modular custom exhibition stand prices can cost between ZAR 3000 – ZAR 6000 per square meter.
  • With options of easily adding custom elements to meet special requirements.
  • This is a method many exhibition companies are trying to perfect, though in my experience, this only works well with more simple stand designs.

  • ACE Exhibitions being one of the only company in South Africa supplying this product at this point.
  • Perfect for Exhibitors just starting out or Exhibitors exhibiting at multiple events throughout the year in my opinion.
  • From prices of ZAR 800 – ZAR 2500 per square meter. Cheap and easy way of exhibiting and actually standing out at the same time.
  • New and innovative system allowing companies to stand out from the shell scheme exhibitors despite costing a fortune.

Standard shell scheme

Aluminium shell scheme being the cheapest option.

standard-shell-scheme
  • Although at ACE Exhibitions we don’t supply this product. This you will get through the organisers of the show as a standard.
  • From ZAR 400 – ZAR 1000 per square meter, the cheapest and most common way to exhibit.
  • At least 60% of all shows are standard shell scheme. Having 60% of all stands looking exactly the same without standing out from competitors one bit getting the least attention.
  • New and innovative system allowing companies to stand out from the shell scheme exhibitors despite costing a fortune.

Floor space – The cost for the actual floor space at a show.

Floor space prices depends entirely on the trade of the show and how established the show is. Can cost ZAR 500 per square meter however if the show is established can cost up to ZAR 5000 per square meter.
As we are not the ‘organisers’ of the shows this figure comes from past experiences of us exhibiting ourselves.

How to get the most out of your stand, with the least amount of money?

This is the standard mindset an exhibition stand designer. Remember, if the designer can come up with something that looks great and gets the most exposure it increases the chances of winning the contract. So in other words leave the design to a professional exhibition designer, not an architect qualified in buildings, or a product designer qualified in furniture, because they don’t have ‘cost effective’ drilled into their heads.

A few things to know about exhibition stand building prices:

  • Labour is the costliest part, not material. To have a huge square wall instead of a tiny labour intensive curved and sprayed wall will be cheaper.
  • In-house labour costs less than on site labour, so the more that can be fully manufactured in the factory the better.
  • Itemised vs merged costings. Itemised means every listed item in the quote has been separately costed. With merged costings, labour and materials get ‘shared’ throughout other items, dropping the cost by at least 30%.
  • Height isn’t necessarily expensive, so concentrate on height rather than, sprayed work and curved designs.
  • Raised flooring, is a costly part, though to have your stand distinguished from the isles, is very beneficial to have in an exhibition hall. Even just a contrast in carpet colour will work.
  • Electrical works can be costly though to just have some good spotlights is very important. Dark stands can affect you terribly.

A few things to think about for your exhibition stand:

  • The size of your floor space should just be suitable. Spend the budget on the stand design instead of unnecessary floor space.
  • Rigging, every single exhibitor thinks they would need to sell their house to afford this. Rigging a banner isn’t that costly and gives the most exposure. until you start thinking of rigging an entire 10m x 10m bulkhead it would start costing a fortune.
  • Double storey stand, expensive? Yes, mainly because this is purely on site labour. If you don’t have a budget of at least ZAR 250 000, then i suggest leaving this idea out.
  • CNC cut logos and light boxes, at least have your logo cnc’d and back lit. The cost for something small is minimal and can really make your exhibition stand look great.
