The Convention Centre excels in its innovative design that focuses on origination and culture. This is a 5 Star facility, with a large hall approximately 11 000 m2 which can be divided into various banquet and conference venues operating at continuous times. The venue closely situated within the boarder line of Cape Town City's center.
- Trade Exhibition Shows
- Film Shoots
- Corporate Functions
1 400 secure parking bays, high exhibition hall ceiling. Best appearing venue inside and out in the whole of South Africa, fully designed and well-kept.
- Exhibition Hall — Can be divided into 5 different halls
- Auditorium 1
- Auditorium 2
- Meeting Suites
The venue has a well presented entrance, a very upmarket drop off zone, with space to actually breathe around.
Visitors — Well suited for international visitors due to the ease of transport and adjoining Hotel. Whether visitors are coming from with in Capetown Central or the outskirts, it is easy enough to arrive at the venue and finding parking. The event will suit trade visitors as well as the general consumer market both equally.
Loading Bays — Aspects of the delivering, loading bays are average and manageable. Larger shows are a bit of a long process though there are systems in place to try prevent complete chaos. Delivering of equipment or products for a medium-sized event will be a swift process most of the time.
Lighting — Is perfect, there is not one aspect for improvement here.
Hall Interior — The interior of the exhibition halls, perfect again. Ceilings are high, i mean about 15m high, and well presented in structural aesthetics.
The Area — Cape Town
Cape Town City would be the second most upmarket place in South Africa, alongside Sandton area.
Cape Town Accommodation
Partially joined to the Westin Grand Hotel, a Superb hotel. With the Protea Hotel, Circa on the square Hotel being some of the top, as well as another 13 Hotels within the area
Taxi services would likely be the preferred form of transport here, though walking is an enjoyable experience with the random landmarks around every corner. Everything is also closely situated and a somewhat safe area to walk in. Traffic does exist, and not just peak hours, through the entire day. Though is manageable, doesn't reach the point of wanting to rip out your own hair.
Capetown as a whole, everything here seems to be some sort of attraction, just walking down to the mall there will be landmarks you will be glad you saw.
To list a few main attractions:
- V & A Waterfront
- Robben Island
- Cape Point Nature Reserve
- Table Mountain
- The Wine Lands
Everything being walking distance from city central, and being in a "safe" state of mind. Taking a stroll down Long Street is all you actually need to do to have a great night.
My opinion, is Cape Town Convention Centre is 5 Star in appearance, location and management, functionality is also there though wouldn't say is perfect. This would be my first option for trade shows and consumer shows around any industry really. Cape Town its self, is a place for business though more prospects would come from Johannesburg, as Cape Town is more of a tourist attraction area. In my mind would be a better suited place firstly for conferences & consumer exhibitions then lastly trade exhibition shows.
